Senior Technology Specialist at Defense

What will you do as a Senior Technology Specialist?

As an Senior Technology Specialist, you contribute to Defense material projects with higher technical complexity. You are the technical expert within the project team, supporting the project manager and colleagues with your knowledge and experience. You conduct studies and evaluations, assess supplier documentation and ensure that systems are introduced or improved safely, reliably and in line with all applicable standards.

Your main tasks include:

Advising project managers and teams on system engineering and technical aspects;
Conducting technical studies, research and evaluations;
Supporting market research and market consultations;
Contributing to project documents such as Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) and Statements of Requirements (SoR);
Preparing and monitoring test plans and analyzing test results;
Evaluating quotations for functionality, documentation, spare parts and safety/quality requirements;
Reviewing prototype and pre-series models;
Contributing to system plans, ILS plans and configuration management;
Guiding suppliers and providing advice on quality-related issues;
Supporting the introduction and decommissioning of equipment.

What do you need for this role?

As an Senior Technology Specialist, you combine in-depth technical expertise with project experience. You have strong analytical skills, work independently and can clearly communicate complex technical issues within your team.

Education & knowledge:

Bachelors degree (or equivalent working and thinking level) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive technology, system engineering or a related field;
At least 5 years of experience as an Engineer, including a minimum of 2 years in project-based work;
Knowledge of maintenance levels, asset management and relevant European regulations;
Experience with technical documentation and specifications;
Familiarity with Prince2 methodology;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
Good command of Dutch and English (German is a plus).
