Manager System Integration CAT-1 at Defense

What will you do as a Manager System Integration CAT-1?

As a Manager System Integrator CAT-1, you play a key role in large and complex material projects. You ensure that all technical disciplines within a project come together and that weapon systems are developed safely, reliably and according to plan. You monitor the quality of technical decisions, oversee project execution and advise on product and time aspects. In doing so, you are indispensable to the success of Defense projects.

Your main tasks include:

Analyzing and defining system-technical components in project documents (PID, Statement of Requirements);
Assessing capacity and resources and monitoring project schedules;
Identifying strategic technological developments and translating them into actions;
Ensuring effective cooperation between the involved technical disciplines;
Advising the project leader on system choices and their impact on product, schedule and budget;
Preparing contracts and order specifications in consultation with Procurement;
Providing operational leadership to technical specialists within projects.

In short, as a Manager System Integrator CAT-1, you are the senior specialist who maintains oversight, provides direction and ensures that complex weapon systems are delivered on time, safely and effectively.

What do you need for this role?

As a Manager System Integrator CAT-1, you combine technical expertise with leadership and coordination skills. You are analytical, results-oriented and capable of aligning complex interests into one cohesive solution.

Education & knowledge:

A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business administration or a similar field;
Knowledge of (European) regulations, standards and technical specifications;
At least 8 years of experience in project management and (inter)national material projects;
Experience reading and interpreting technical documentation and specifications;
Excellent command of Dutch and English (German/French is a plus);
Experience in drafting requirement programs for material acquisition.
